I bought her and took her home, and decided that before I gave her to Poppy, it might be nice to make some clothes and a little bag, so I knitted these.........
Then I remembered that I had lots of pretty yarn left over from making Poppy's blanket, so I made a matching blanket for dolly.
Then I rang DD, and told her the dolly was ready, and she remembered that I had made her a rag doll when she was a baby - well over twenty years ago! - and could we bring it with us at Christmas? Of course I could! So I washed all her clothes and got her ready to be reunited with her owner. Here she is modelling her bloomers!
Frilly underskirt.
Dress and hat.
And here they are together, Poppy's new Cath Kidston doll, with clothes designed and knitted by me, and DD's own doll, all made by me, many years ago, including all the clothes.
Ah yes, I can see happy days ahead, playing with Poppy, playing with dolls, lots of fun!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I know how terrible it is to lose a loved cat, we have been through it many times and it never gets easier.
I can also understand you not wanting another with the need to visit your children, we simply do not go on hoiday due to the 5 cats, we dont mind though, they mean a lot to us.
I love the dollies, way back, 40 odd years in fact, I remember making dollies, gosh how the time flies, am I really that old, surely not.......
keep well

Hi Jayne! I love your dolls! Yes, I adore rag dolls. Now I must hunt for a Cath Kidston doll myself. The sweater and bag are darling. You did a beautiful job. Lucky Poppy!
I love rag dolls! I used to have a small collection of them. The outfit and blanket you made for your granddaughter's doll is lovely. And so is the doll you made for your daughter. So sweet! My mother made me a rag doll when I was in my early 20's. I named her Molly, and she sits on a rocking chair in our guest room. (She also has red hair.) She is so special to me. I'm sure your daughter will love being reunited with her doll! :)
Thank you dear ones for your kind words!
